Journal was imagined as a joyful, light-filled space with the spirit of a surf shack — a place designed to make you feel on holiday the moment you walk through the door. White panelling, mismatched furniture and a bright, relaxed atmosphere create an interior that feels both effortless and full of character. Opened in Stockel by Anh-Tu and Vivi Pham (Nenu, Nenuphar) , the project was imagined as a neighbourhood destination with a strong sense of ease — a place for breakfast, lunch, pastries and everyday moments throughout the day.

To reinforce that sense of escape, coloured stained glass was introduced to create shifting plays of light throughout the day, bringing movement, warmth and a subtle sense of surprise to the space. More than a café, Journal was designed as an uplifting and welcoming destination — balanced, playful and instantly transporting.
